I like to cook with charcoal and discovered the joys of cedar planks with salmon. The 30 pack come in a box, uniform size, and very good condition. The planks look a touch thinner compared to the ones I purchased a Lowes for 3X the $$. They sometimes bow a little on the grill from the heat; but, not enough to have the food roll off. I like to put them in a X-large jumbo size Ziploc bag with just water (double bag) for about 24 hours before grilling. I like to place the planks directly over the coals for max smoke to give the salmon a delicious cedar smoked flavor. I haven’t tried to re-used the planks once I do this because the planks are pretty charred on the charcoal side; but, 100% A-OK on the salmon side. Next time, I might save the charred planks to place on top of charcoal to help smoke fast grill items like burgers or steaks. Looking forward to experimenting with other recipes using cedar planks.

I use these for grilling salmon on my Weber gas grill. They absolutely do the trick, every bit as well as the more expensive ones found two to a package at the store, for far less cost. Quality is perfect. This is my third order in 5 years. Very satisfied.
The MOST important thing to know: soak the planks so they are wet throughout. I usually put them in water a couple of hours before hand. If you don’t, you’ll wind up with the planks on fire and your food burned black.
Each plank easily holds two 1-1/2” filets side by side.
A little olive oil, some fresh rosemary and a dusting of coarse sea salt does the trick. Preheat grill to 450. On a three-burner grill, turn the middle burner off (or waaaay down), put the planked salmon in the middle and turn the two side burners to just above medium. 12-15 minutes but keep an eye on it. Thicker cuts might take a bit more to cook all the way thru, though some might like it a bit pink in the middle. Enjoy!
