This is a good set to put in your camping gear. All of the pieces in the set are nice quality and the fit of the spatula to the knife is good. The spatula is a little short to use over a large bed of coals without burning your hand. This is a great set to use with a small grill or small bed of coals

Opinel’s Grilling Set is very nicely made from high quality materials and I would not expect anything less from a legendary brand such as Opinel. I have a chef’s knife made by them that I have used for years and it remains excellent.
The set consists of a combination knife / spatula and tongs. The tongs are generously sized and substantial. They are able to reach across a large grilling surface with and lift up hefty cuts of meat with ease. The spatula is also large and substantial. It does not bend or flex under load. The wooden handle is beautifully shaped and finished. To switch from the spatula to the knife you twist the metal ring around the base of the spatula, and pull out the spatula, from there the knife folds out similar in style to a swiss army knife and the blade locks in place by twisting the metal ring back into position. The knife is beautifully finished, sturdy, and has a sharp and true edge. It makes easy work of cutting meat, but the blade is quite flat, so it doesn’t lend itself to the rocking motion needed for mincing veggies.
All in all… lovely set.
