   It does char as expected. Using it on the grill I get beautiful char marks. It is also very easy to clean! However, I have noticed that grease tends to pool on the surface and at some point instead of grilling it becomes frying. For grilling vegetables and non-greasy items it works great!

   I had a set of these for about a year , but then it was time for new ones. So I went online and found copy cats at cheaper rates. They did not work as well and were really hard to clean so I got rid of them after two used and bought these. Stick to the original and stick to what works.

   These are the most awesome grill accessory I have. I use it a few times a week. I cook asparagus, peppers and onions for fajitas, bacon and potatoes, and anything else I can think of. Easy to clean and I just take it back out and let it dry and leave it on the grill. Love it

   I used this for the first time cooking a porterhouse steak and it was beyond belief…I don’t understand the technology, but I love how it works without burning up on the grill…I highly recommend this item…they are nice big sheets and no food was lost (veggies and such)…love it

   Disappointed. First, there is no copper in these mats, I’m unsure what material they are made from. Second, they are paper thin. Third, they are advertised to be Copper Chef, this is a lie. Forth, they came folded in an envelope, which is already breaking the mat.

   Save your money and buy straight from Copper Chef.

   These copper mats are easy to use and perform very well. Nothing I have used them for has stuck. What I especially like about them is the easy clean up. I set them in hot soapy water for two or three minutes and they clean with just a sponge.My grill stays clean and the food looks great.

   Have had for 2 years and they work perfectly. Just ordered a second set. No holes, can get black but most wipes off. Cleans easily. Scoop off the grill with a cookie sheet to bring inside. Use on grill for burgers, roasting veggies, fish…everything when camping.

   I really buy them as “grill liners” because they keep your grill from getting nasty. They allow your food to cook without getting scorched but you so have to clean them almost immediately or at least remove them from the grill in a timely manner so they’ll be easier to clean that way. Trust me on this. It has nothing to do with the mat.
   I can’t imagine grilling without them these days.

   The Copper Chef Grill Mats work pretty good on my charcoal grill. I place them on the grate, directly over the charcoal. I think they are meant to be used for indirect heat, so they’re harder to clean than shown in the commercials. They’re much easier to clean than the grill grate though. I like them.

    The only problem with mats like these (I own a pair) is with greasier foods… The grease comes out of the food and pools on the mat. Then if you try to “sweep” it off, the grease can cause a big flare up….
