Not as well built as the grill for sure. Not impressed with the quality.

Installs easy, looks nice and is very useful. It folds down but I keep mine up. Note: Weber cover does cover BBQ even with the tables in the up position so no need to lower for cover to fit.

The shelf was relatively easy to install. The only hard part about the installation was lining up the rod that runs the length of the shelf. If you have a second set of hands, which I didn’t, it would probably take you a couple of minutes to complete the installation. I use it to put a baking sheet on it to take the food in and out of the smoker much easier—less chance of dropping it or dripping grease.
I’ve seen some people complain about how the clearance of the shelf isn’t much when the lid is closed. Just put the food on the side shelf. Open the lid. Now move the food to the front. Simple solution.
I’m loving it so far. I just fold it down when not in use. I store the smoker outside in the weather so I do have a cover for it. I’ve had zero issues with the cover with the shelf folded down. I would recommend it of you want some extra shelf space.

Love the foldable add on to my SmokeFire. This would have been a 5 star but when the lid is down you loose space on the shelf.

I would say this is probably the only accessory piece that you need for the Smokefire. Comes in very handy!

This shelf came in today. It was a 5 minute installation with zero tools required ( there are a couple of youtube videos that show how to install this shelf). I see some think it’s flimsy. While I wouldn’t use it as a step ladder this shelf is great for the intended purpose. I really like it and find it to be very handy.

Easy to install as the Weber bbq is just waiting for this, and once on, works well. You do have to be careful as it allows you to store things close to the lid, which will knock it off the plate if you’re not careful, but otherwise it works perfect. I think this should come with the bbq but since it doesn’t this is a very easy fix.

This extra shelf on our new pellet grill has worked out great. And following Weber’s history of craftsmanship it fit perfectly and was very easy to install.
And when folded down it fits perfect within the Weber pellet grill cover. As with Weber products, top quality and it appears that it will be durable like the grill itself.

Weber should give the shelf for free, but it is well worth the purchase

The shelf is made of a reasonable gauge SS for the price and is relatively easy to install; however, the design seriously compromises its usefulness. With the lid closed its handle covers the shelf by at least one-third and is so close to the surface (of the shelf) that a sheet pan doesn’t have clearance. So, for example, if you want to place your pan of meat on the shelf, load the smoker, and then close the lid you have to remove your pan, and anything else on the shelf, to do so. On the flip side, you can’t place anything on the shelf before you open the lid. I’ve resorted to a separate table next to the unit. Also, the shelf has hooks to hold the upper cooking rack when not in use. the hooks are on the back side of the shelf mounting bracket facing the back of the unit. Even with the shelf in the “up” position, the user has to squat down to see what you’re doing.
Ultimately a design in need of improvement. For the price, you can get a decent SS side table.
