   I’ve had it for two years – roasted a couple of chickens and two whole hogs. The “U” bolt which you would use to secure the spine of the animal to the rod is a bit short. In the two hog roasts I’ve done (approximately 45 lb animals each time) it’s been just too short to secure. I ordered two from a competing vendor (SpitJack) which are spiked and about twice the length. No problems securing the animal with those. In my first go-around roasting a hog – the lack of the U-bolt was brutal. I used stainless wire to secure the pig more securely – but the amount of “flop” as the pig turned over during rotation was almost fatal. In the second go-around with the extended U bolts (2 of them 1 secured just behind the front hip, and 1 in front of the rear hips) – no flopping at all. Also I used a couple additional forks fore and aft of the animal. Overall the kit is a great starter. However I doubt you’d be able to get a 125 lb animal on spit this length. As is the hanging weight of both hogs was around 65 pounds, and dropped to 45 after being dressed. And they – when secured to the spit, take up nearly the entire length. You could likely do away with the legs – and get the torso of a heavier animal on it, but I’m not sure that’s a win either. About 6 hours after getting a hog onto the fire the motor works great – steady turning speed – the only work is keeping the fire fed.

   Not going to lie I was a little hesitant to buy this at first. I never bought a big piece of equipment off of outdoorcooking.us.com, let alone anywhere else on the web. This definitely exceeded my expectations for sure!!! My parents are from the Philippines and they wanted to roast a pig like back home so this was really easy for them to use. We were able to put it together in no time and had no problem holding the weight of the pig we purchased. Also, the spit rotates just fine while plugged in! I wish it came with a pit but we were able to use an old metal bbq barrel and put it underneath for the hot coals. Will recommend to anyone wanting to roast meat, its not a bad price and its certainly durable enough!

   The Titan Outdoor Open Fire Pit Roaster is a superb product! We roasted a 77 pound pig on New Year’s Eve and it held up for the almost eight hours it took to roast. It was very easy to assemble and disassemble after it cooled. Another advantage is that it took very little effort to clean. It is made of polished stainless steel that adds to its sturdiness and ease of cleaning. Storage has also been thought of as it comes with a small duffel bag for this purpose. The motor gave no issues either! We turned it on and it worked through the eight hours with ease. I recommend this product while heartedly! Would I buy it again? YES! I would even buy it as a gift.

   Works great, only issue I had was the threads on the spit were made backwards. Had to tighten them by going left and it took me a good 5 minutes to get that figured out.
   Otherwise, we grilled a small gator for 5 hours on a Cajun boil party and it came out great with evenly cooked meat.

   This was the 4th rotisserie kit that I tried before being satisfied. I already owned by own grill and needed the rotisserie set. The length of the spit is excellent and easily fits a lamb/goat stretched out (as done traditionally for Greek Easter). The one I had was 20lbs and it was rotating seamlessly. Very quiet motor. Strong metal that feels like it can easily hold 45-50lbs. Highly recommend. Comes with a nice storage bag as well to protect metal and keep it from rusting.
