This is a CNC cut panel/shelf and not a diamond wire mesh you see on some custom-built BBQs/smokers. This does make it smoother and not as harsh, but some people may not like it for wanting what I would call traditional. That being said the dimensions are correct, finish is good and welds for the support bar are very clean. I would almost go with a 4.5 rating but there is nothing wrong with it.

Although I think that the price is a tad-bit high, this is a very well made shelf for my Traeger 780. The instructions are clear with pictures and it is super simple to install; takes 5 minutes. This shelf shifts a bit from forward and back because it is a resting shelf, resting on the supports of the smoker; but it is fine and secure. It fits perfect from left to right. Very well made with a thick steel coated material. Sturdy and will not sag in center. The shelf is mesh (holes) so crud won’t settle on the shelf. Good storage for non-heat sensitive accessories. Functional addition to our smoker.
