   It’s a shame to have to give it a 1 star as apart from this clear manufacturing problem it seem like a good piece of kit. We would have returned it but it’s a huge hassle and we are off on a 2 week camping trip next week so no time to return and get a new one.

   I do a lot of day camping as a landscape photographer and find this the perfect grill when out in the woods. It is easy to carry and clean and much better than eating a cold meal when out in the woods especially in the winter.

   In an effort to lighten our gear load for canoe camping, I decided last minute to go full gaucho and cook everything over the fire. I am not going back to gas. EVER! This is so much better. It’s compact, more eco, grilled meats taste better, and with a little planning ahead you’ll never miss your bulky, heavy Coleman grill. We always have a fire going while camping anyway so this just made sense. Coffee pot right on the grate, followed by a pan full of bacon and eggs. Burgers and steak later with fire roasted jalapeño, omg amazing! Easy cleanup, no greasy fat traps or stinky grill parts, no running out of propane halfway, I really can’t find a complaint. This is how it was done for centuries and it really makes sense that this is the best way. Just let the fire burn down to coals and you’ll not regret it. 5 stars all the way!

   Question: has anyone found a grill bag this fits inside? I camp and want to be able to store it inside a bag that fits? Any suggestions?

   Brilliant bit of kit, can be used over open fires or as a pot stand, I also use mine as a camp bedside table and to put my gas cooker on as its lower than my kitchen unit.

    Well built and substantial. I bought it to use as a plant riser for my patio “garden” because I couldn’t find anything that fit my needs as affordably (it was $31 when I bought it) as this camp grill. I’d been trying to get some variety in my plant stands/risers so I really liked the industrial look as compared to the fluffier stuff usually found at the garden stores. It was also just the size I was looking for and easily holds three medium/small plant pots. Highly recommended for this non-tactical use. I did have to touch up a couple of deep scratches with some enamel paint, but that took 5 minutes and it looks fine now.
