   These are amazing back savers. We originally purchased them to move massive slabs onto the splitter (see image) but since they grab so quickly and consistently we found ourselves using them for smaller logs we would have normally just risked pulling muscles to get up. The log in the picture is probably about 450-500lb and the hooks held well. A couple times if we couldn’t get it to catch on wet wood, a quick notch with the tip of the saw or tap with the back of a maul would sink the teeth just enough to do the rest. If only there was a remote control to open and spring load close then my brother could operate them himself, and without getting off the tractor. Glad we purchased them!

   It’s at least stronger than my tractor’s hydraulics (1000lb cap), pretty easy to use once you learn where on the log to grab it. Sometimes we would smack the teeth into deep bark first with a branch before trying to drag or lift it, or at times it would only pull off bark and miss the wood. Pretty simple design, well built, good finish.

   Great product especially for the price. The color of the tongs stands out in the woods so it’s easy to retrieve; seems like it would stand out in the dark as well. Very tough product & used it straight away out of the box to test it; grips well and withstands a lof of force. The swivel head it has is a very smart addition; this feature saves your cable or rope from twisting and fraying so much to the point of breakage/unusable. Within reason, anything the jaws will get around, you can pull. No slippage while pulling logs noted(and don’t expect any; digs into logs very well).

    This beast is the one logs cry about. It bites HARD! The harder you pull the more it bites. I used this to skid trees much bigger than the photos shows. It’s a no brainer – buy it.

    This implement require s two people to operate. One on the ground to set it and one on a tractor to tighten the chain to lock in and lift. Takes a bit of practice but it works very well. It is sturdy and was invaluable to us building our cross tie walls and flower beds, BIG flower beds. Recommend it highly.

    I had pieces of tree to heavy for me to lift onto the log splitter. Pulley over a tree branch and these tongs meant no lifting at all!

    Pretty good tongs, I’ve put a 20″ log in them and it was tight but worked. Had down to a 6″ and they still held. Skidded about 40 logs so far and they work well. Can’t imagine what people are doing to get these to break.
