This BBQ accessories kit is a thoughtful and fun gift for my daughter to give her uncle this Christmas! While I wouldn’t call it heavy-duty as advertised—it's more of a light to midgrade set—it’s still a charming present. The tools are functional and nicely designed, making it a great starter kit or backup set. What makes this gift stand out is the sentimental value of a niece gifting it to her uncle, which adds a personal touch. It’s perfect for casual grilling and brings a festive spirit to the holidays. Overall, it’s a cute and practical gift idea that’s sure to make her uncle smile. Definitely worth it for the occasion!
Low rating goes to 5 stars once I can contact the seller/resolve an issue. Used this item first time to make a Lot of chicken for my Son's 30th birthday celebration. Found a defect to the handle where the E ring retainer is actually undersized and came of during use and eliminated the ability to raise the fire grate. Luckly this caused it to fail in the lower position and I was able to recover. Issue could also be that the groove for the E-Ring was not cut deep enough. The issue with my unit is that the E ring installed from the supplier is undersized and doesn't fully collapse to the diameter of the groove in the crank shaft. I had my doubts on assembly when I saw it but went ahead anyway as I had no choice. I am now in the process of finding a substitute E ring that will fit properly else I will drill a hole in the shaft and install a SS washer and cotter pin as a retainer that won't pop off. I also plan to clamp a lug on the end of the cable that runs through the cable clamps so that it cannot pull free if something happens. When the fire great drop on the one side when the E-ring failed the cable on that side pulled free when I initially tried to raise the fire grate before realizing the crank shaft had popped free, releasing the shaft. Trying to locate the seller for spare parts and have lie communication. Update for 7/5 I made the following changes and it's all good now. I'll keep the overall rating the same as there are some key design issues that caused the failure and affects overall reliability. I plan to keep this accessory on most of the time so need better confidence that things don't go wrong in the middle of a cook. I list below the changes I made: 1. My unit had an undersized E-Ring that came off during my first cook allowing one side of the fuel grate to drop. Lucky for me it was fully lowered as I was doing a high temp roadside chicken cook. The unit failed as I was trying to crank the fuel grate up. A properly sized E-Ring would have prevented the problem and you can see and example in my photos. My ultimate solution though was to roach out a SS washer to fit the shaft and go with a properly sized circlip which give so much more support and should prevent any future failure. 2. The cables provided to link the fuel grate carrier to the crank shaft are too short IMHO to properly set up and tighten into the clamps. I ended up tossing the stock cables after the one slipped out during the issue above with longer versions that would allow me to more easily position through the clamps on the crankshaft. I used ferrules from big box along with 1/16 inch cable (rope) I happened to have from a marine supplier. Do not use the 1/16 cable from big box as it really doesn't have enough strands to be flexible for wrapping around the crankshaft. Looke for 1/16th cable "rope" from a marine supply house. 3. The cable clamps on the crank shaft had 4.0mm cap head screws that were just a little short. This creates a problem when you are trying to feed the suspension cables into the clamps. By using new SS screws that were just a couple mm longer gave me the ability to open the clamps up much more and allow me to feed the now longer cables through the clamps and set things so the fuel great carrier was level. Once I pulled through the new cables I installed ferrules on that end as well and cut off the excess. This (ferrule on the clamp end) creates a "fail safe" that will not allow the cables to slip through the clamps. These improvements makes this kit a keeper for me. I plan to keep it installed on the Performer for all my cooks. It is removable by simply lifting of the assembly though. It creates a 3"-12" range of distance between the fuel greate to the food grate. Awesome. To me this is a LONG awaited "fix" of a key deficiency in the Weber kettle that is IMHO better than the multi - level fuel grate in the $$ Weber Summit Charcoal Grill. As a final note - I'm going to trial this improved version for a while. I do not like that the very solid shafts provided to guide the fuel grate carrier are only attached by 1/4 x 1" or so carriage bolts. I would prefer to drill into them about 2 inches or so to accept thicker carriage bolts say 3/8" x 3" that in my view would prevent any flex during heating that would allow the guide shafts to move around and bind. But until that problem actually happens I'll leave things as they are. I'm updating to bump a star as this unit with Craycourt cast iron grates with the mods I mention is still cranking along after 7 years. I wish someone would have a look and see if these improvements have been made. For example is they selling upgraded version to correct the original issues from the original version. A great product - just can't vouch for the quality just yet as I have no idea what improvements have been made from original.
Works great. Just what I had in mind!
So I’m a big ol’ grill with wide hips—err, shelves. When they brought this slick new caddy out, I was feeling hopeful. “Finally,” I thought, “a place for all the sauces, tools, and that roll of paper towels they always forget until it’s too late.” But alas, it didn’t fit me. My shelves were just too thicc for the clip-on mount. Bit of a blow to my self-esteem, but I gotta admit... this thing is gorgeous. Solid build, great finish, and organized like a dream. It's basically the kitchen assistant I never knew I needed. Even though I can’t wear it myself, I’ve been eyeing my sleeker cousin—one of those Blackstone types—and let me tell you, she rocks it. Holds condiments like a champ, keeps tools lined up like a drill sergeant, and even has a spot for paper towels (so no more wiping your hands on your shorts, Dave). If your shelves are the right size, get this thing. It’s like giving your grill a utility belt. Me? I’ll just admire from a distance and hope they make a plus-size version soon.
I ordered two of these and they both have the same issues. As you can see from the pictures, the stainless finish is less than desirable. Scratches on the top and side of the lid, and where the clasp hole enters, there is a noticeable area that didn't get polished. The welds on the bottom are barely tacked, and I'm not sure how long they will hold up. Also, the riv-nuts on the bottom are the wrong size where the M4 screws are supposed to attach the mounting brackets. (You can see where some of mine popped out). The M4 screws are too large to fit in these riv-nuts, and the riv-nuts pop out very easily because they are the wrong size (too small... or the hole is too big, you pick). I modified mine by just using an M4 stainless washer to attach the brackets. I'm only keeping this because I don't want a separate grill from my pellet grill. Had I known this, I would have skipped Camp Chef altogether. Not worth the price paid, and because I saw this in two instances, I'm thinking they have skimped on Quality Control. It's been 5 days since customer service has returned my email. Boo!
Got this table for my husband to use as an assistant for his Blackstone grill and his Blackstone pizza oven and he loves it. It's very versatile and easily movable. It did take a little while to put together but it's definitely worth it. Blackstone products are great but most have very little prep space and this was the perfect addition to help with prep space.
These work great plan on getting more for camping trips has well.
This kit is a good value at the current price. I added up how much it would cost me to buy these items separate and it was over 60.00. The quality is average or a bit above. Resilient stainless steel. The bottles are lighter plastic but dishwasher safe.
Bought this along with OneGrill's rotisserie kit. LOL - these two add-ons cost more than the grill itself! Did we get our money's worth? I'd say yes. Versatile, and built with high-grade materials. You won't find anything close to this quality at discount/big box stores. I've used tumblers and flat racks before, it's nice to have one basket that does both. So far we've run 4 chicken quarters using the flat racks, and a 3 pound batch of wings in the tumbler. Both came out perfecto, and there was still room left for more food. I'd say this is the perfect size for smaller grills - ours is 25" X 17" at the grill surface. For larger upscale models, you'll likely want to add a second one if you do big loads on a regular basis. For some folks, the additional cost may be worth it. No setup is required. Just yank it out of the box and slide it onto your spit. Two large stainless phillips screws secure basket to the spit rod. Much easier to tighten (w/screwdriver) than thumbscews, and once tightened they stay put. The rack and basket panels are easily adjusted, it's pretty intuitive to set up the way you want. If all goes well, you'll be ready to start cooking in 15 minutes. But - there's one important thing to consider: OneGrill states that the basket exterior measures 4.75" inches above and below the spit at it's 2 widest points. But the minimum clearance isn't enough to insure the drum won't scrape the grill surface. In some cases, it may actually hang up on the grates, possibly damaging your motor. I measured the spit-to-grate distance before ordering, and it was a little over 4.75". I thought.that was close enough, but no - it hit the surface when the wide points spun over.the grate. FAIL... It was close, though, so I attempted to tweak both the basket and the spit mounts for more clearance. A combination of bending the curved panels and raisng the spit did the trick. Works like a champ now. I'd suggest that you allow at least 5" between spit and grate to prevent this. Otherwise you'll have to modify your setup, or remove one or more grates (and maybe some flare-up guards below the grates). I want to keep my grates in place if possible, but that's just me. If that doesn't matter to you, just yank the grate(s) before each use - that's better than risking a serious problem. As for cleaning - well, don't get your hopes up. It's the nature of the beast to get gunked up. It helps to spray some Grill Pam inside the basket, but it's still gonna get cruddy over time. It does break down easily, though, so I see no reason you couldn't soak the parts overnight then run 'em through the nuclear cycle of your dishwasher. After 2 runs, I haven't found the need for a complete cleaning yet. It looks dirty, but hasn't affected flavor yet. We'll see - perhaps a little curing is a good thing.
Turned out great! Quick shipping!
The grill looks more substantial than it really is. It is SS but it doesn’t clean easily. I recommend a grill with thicker rails. I clean it every after every grill.
Do not buy. This item was constructed partly of plastic components that melted the first time I used it. All-metal construction is essential in an item that is intended for use in a high-temperature environment.
The tools are fantastic. The case is cheap. After 1 year the case fell apart and grew some nasty fungus inside of it. I care for it just like all my other BBQ items, they sit inside a weatherproof deck box. I guess it can’t hold up to Texas humidity.
I like it but will probably order an electric one eventually. it worked though. I saw pics saying that the battery terminals will melt so put aluminum foil around the battery housing. The housing pops out of the bracket and the whole battery box starts turning, so you have to brace it. The next issue, the rod pops out of the battery housing and stops turning. I will put a stopper of some sort on the opposite side to keep it from sliding out. I added two pictures. it took awhile to cook bc it was the first time so we had to adjust it a few times. the total was 3 hours. oh, and the prongs slide out of the chicken when it shrinks. It may be because we finger tightened them. So next time I will use needle nose pliers.
